The Helix Choice Program is an on-site Internet based education program through Apex Learning that specializes in accelerated curriculum to enhance a student’s ability to recover deficient credits. The HCP school year will consist of six, (30) school-day sessions. Students will have an opportunity to enroll in up to three courses in each session but will be required to enroll in a minimum of two.
Students will be expected to come to school daily to either a morning session that runs from 08:00am-11:00am or an afternoon session that runs from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Students must be on time and prepared to work. If a student has more than two absences in any session, and is unable to make up their absences in Saturday school, they will be subject to an administrative review and may be dropped from the program. In addition, students who have excessive absences will not be given credit for their classes until their absences are made up.
Eligible students can enroll in the program at any time. If a student registers for the program in the midst of a session, they will be enrolled in an elective or orientation course. A student evaluation will be preformed at the end of each 30 school-day session. If at any time a student is no longer making adequate progress they will be removed from the program. Continued student enrollment is subject to session evaluation every 30 school days.
